When to Replace Goalkeeper Gloves
Gloves are a consumable material — latex foam wears out with use. This is not a product defect, but a characteristic of the material.
Signs of Wear
1. Grip is failing
The ball "slips" from your hands despite good catching technique. After some time, the latex loses its adhesive properties — this is the most important signal.
2. Visible latex abrasion
Areas of the foam become dull, and you can see micro-cracks or thin layers. Especially on the fingertips and the center of the palm.
3. Foam is peeling off the fabric
Mechanical damage. At this point, replacement is necessary — the glove no longer performs its function.
4. Persistent odor despite washing
Bacteria have penetrated the foam structure — it can no longer be washed out.
Rotation = Longer Lifespan
If you train regularly (e.g., 3-5 times a week), a separate training pair (Invictus X Training) significantly extends the life of your match model (Varis X / PRO or Invictus X / PRO).
- Match gloves: only for matches + possibly one technical session per week
- Training gloves: for all other sessions
