When to replace goalkeeper gloves
Gloves are a consumable item — latex foam wears out with use. This is not a product defect, only the nature of the material.
Signs of wear
1. Grip deteriorates
The ball "slips" from your hands despite good catching technique. Latex loses its adhesive properties after some time — this is the most important signal.
2. Visible latex wear
Areas where the foam has worn become dull, showing micro-cracks or thin layers. Especially on the fingertips and in the centre of the palm.
3. Foam detaches from the fabric
Mechanical damage. At this point, replacement is necessary — the glove no longer performs its function.
4. Persistent odor despite washing
Bacteria have penetrated the foam structure — it won't wash out anymore.
Rotation = longer lifespan
If you train regularly (e.g., 3-5x a week), a separate pair of training gloves (Invictus X Training) significantly extends the lifespan of the match model (Varis X / PRO lub Invictus X / PRO).
- Match: matches only + possibly one technical session per week
- Training: remaining sessions
