Varis X PRO or Invictus X PRO — why choose at all

TL;DR: Both models feature the same German latex Contact PRO 4 mm. The difference is the glove's shape. Choose Varis X PRO (Negative cut) if you like dynamism, lightness, and direct ball feel. Choose Invictus X PRO (Roll Finger+ cut) if you value stability, a fuller hand fit, and confidence in your exits.

Two cuts, one latex — what that really means

Both models are in the series X PRO — premium match-grade. Both use German latex Contact PRO 4 mm, one of the top on the market. Both have a double elastic bandage. The grip class is the same.

The difference is in how to fit the glove to your hand:

  • Varis X PRO — cut Negative. The foam adheres closely to the hand, the glove fits tighter, you have a more direct feel for the ball on first contact.
  • Invictus X PRO — cut Roll Finger+. The foam extends beyond the palm, providing a larger contact surface, the glove offers more space, giving a fuller fit.

When Varis X PRO wins

  • You play dynamically, reflexes matter
  • Low balls, on the ground — you need to feel the ball with your fingers, not just catch it with your whole hand
  • You prefer lighter, fitted gloves
  • Your playing style is reacting and intervening — you need precision in hand work
  • Backhand Fit Skin 3D + zone Punch+ supports punching

When Invictus X PRO excels

  • Coming out for crosses, high balls — you want maximum contact surface
  • You catch with your whole hands, you prefer to feel the ball 'throughout the glove'
  • You prefer a firmer hand fit, confidence
  • Backhand Beta & Latex + silicone punching zones — more support
  • You play in difficult conditions (wet grass, high crosses) — stabilisation helps

How professional goalkeepers tested

Every FM model undergoes testing with active league goalkeepers before entering the store. In tests, Varis X PRO is chosen by goalkeepers who value dynamism (I-III league goalkeepers, players better "on the line"). Invictus X PRO is chosen by players who are highly active in the penalty area (exits, crosses, aggressive play on the goal line).

Decision in 30 seconds

Ask yourself:

1. Are you more of a "shot-stopper" or "active in the penalty area"?

  • Reflexes → Varis X PRO

2. Do you prefer lighter or fuller gloves?

  • Lighter → Varis X PRO
  • Fuller → Invictus X PRO

3. Do you catch more with your fingers or your whole hands?

  • With fingers → Varis X PRO
  • With both hands → Invictus X PRO

If you have 2 out of 3 answers for one model — that's your direction.
