How to Choose a Model
What's the difference between the X PRO and X series?
X PRO is our premium match-grade line, featuring German Contact PRO 4 mm latex (trusted in professional models). X is our semi-professional line with Giga Grip 4 mm latex, optimized for regular training and league matches. The difference lies in the grip class, backhand construction, and extra features (PRO models have punching zones and a double elastic wrist strap).
What's the difference between Varis and Invictus?
The shape of the glove:
- Varis =
Negativecut, lighter, more snug, for a direct feel of the ball - Invictus =
Roll Finger+cut, fuller, larger contact area, provides more hand stability
The choice is a matter of preference. One keeper may want dynamic movement and a direct feel (Varis), while another prefers a fuller, more stable fit (Invictus).
Which model is right for my level?
- Top Division / Pro / Advanced Amateur (match play) →
X PRO(Varis X PRO or Invictus X PRO) - Regular training and lower-level league matches →
Xseries (Varis X or Invictus X) - Youth Player (U7-U15) → Invictus X Junior (sizes 3, 4, 5)
- Second pair for daily training → Invictus X Training
For a complete decision guide, see: How to choose your gloves.
Contact PRO 4 mm vs Giga Grip 4 mm — what's the difference?
Two different grip latexes:
- Contact PRO 4 mm (German) — used in the
X PROseries (match models). A top-tier grip chosen by professional goalkeepers. - Giga Grip 4 mm — used in the
Xseries (semi-pro). A very good grip optimized for regular use, offering a great balance between quality and everyday playability.
Full comparison: Contact PRO vs Giga Grip.
Negative vs Roll Finger+ — which one to choose?
Two glove cuts, two philosophies:
- Negative (
Varis) — the foam fits closer to the hand, providing a lighter feel and a more direct sense of the ball. - Roll Finger+ (
Invictus) — the foam wraps around the fingers, creating a larger contact area and a fuller, more cushioned feel.
Both cuts are used by professional goalkeepers — it's not a matter of "better" or "worse," but of personal preference.
Varis X PRO or Invictus X PRO — which one to choose?
Both feature German Contact PRO 4 mm latex — the same top-tier grip. The difference is the shape of the glove:
- Varis X PRO =
Negativecut, lighter, more dynamic, for a direct feel of the ball — for goalkeepers who want precision and quick reactions. - Invictus X PRO =
Roll Finger+cut, fuller, larger contact area, a more secure fit — for goalkeepers who value stability, especially when coming out for crosses.
The latex is the same. The choice is based on cut preference, not quality.
Colors — do they matter?
No — the colorway is a variation, not a separate product. The model's logic, technology, and performance level are the same for all colors within a given line.
How do I choose the right goalkeeper glove size?
Two measurements:
- Hand circumference at the widest point (excluding the thumb), using a measuring tape — the circumference in cm is an approximate glove size.
- Hand length from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger + 1 cm of extra space.
Adult sizes start at 8 (hand ~22 cm), junior sizes are 3-5 (Invictus X Junior). If you're between sizes, choose the larger one (the Negative cut fits tighter, while the Roll Finger+ cut leaves more room).

Are FM gloves worth the price compared to T1TAN / Reusch / Uhlsport?
Contact PRO 4 mm (X PRO series) is the same German latex that costs 450-600 zł in corporate brands. Varis X PRO and Invictus X PRO are 369 zł — because we manufacture them ourselves, without middlemen. The difference isn't in the grip, but in the logo and the markup.
Are FM gloves tested by professional goalkeepers?
Yes. The founder, Wojciech Małecki, is a former goalkeeper in the Ekstraklasa and I liga (Korona Kielce, Górnik Łęczna, Znicz Pruszków, Olimpia Grudziądz). Every model is tested with active league goalkeepers before it's released in our store. The FM Team (our ambassadors) plays in the gloves and provides feedback every season.
Maintenance and Durability
Why does the grip wear out?
Latex foam is a consumable material — it wears down with use. This is not a product defect, but a characteristic of the material. Dirt, high-temperature drying, and storing them while damp shorten their lifespan. Regular washing and rotating between a match and a training pair will extend it.
When to replace your gloves — signs of wear.
How long does a pair of X PRO gloves last?
With 3-4 training sessions plus a match per week and proper care — 3-5 months of an active season. A match pair used only on Sundays will last a full season (8-10 months). Rotating a match and training pair extends the life of both pairs by 2-3×.
My new pair lost its grip after 2 training sessions — is this a defect?
In 95% of cases, no. New latex needs to be washed before its first use (to remove the protective layer from manufacturing) and dampened before playing. If the grip returns after washing, it was just the protective layer. If the latex flakes or peels after washing, file a claim: kontakt@footballmasters.pl + photos.
Why do you recommend rotating two pairs?
Latex needs 24-48 hours to dry after use to restore its grip structure. A single pair used day after day doesn't have enough time to dry, the foam remains damp, and the grip deteriorates 30-40% faster. Two pairs used alternately — each one gets a full drying cycle. The result: one pair lasts 1.3× as long, but two pairs last 3× as long.
Can I wash my gloves in a washing machine?
No. A washing machine damages the latex mechanically (the drum + detergents + temperature). Wash by hand in cool water with mild soap or a specialized latex gel, without shaking or wringing them out. Full guide: How to care for your gloves.
How should I wash goalkeeper gloves?
Cool water + mild soap if they are very dirty. Do not use warm water (latex foam degrades at high temperatures). Air dry them, never on a radiator or in direct sunlight.
Full guide: How to care for your gloves.
Can I play in new gloves right after they arrive?
Technically, yes, but we recommend: wash them in cool water (to remove the protective layer), let them dry for 24h, and use them for 1-2 dry training sessions to let the glove "break in" on your hand. Playing a match in brand-new gloves risks the grip not being at its full potential yet.
Do I need glove glue (grip enhancer) for FM gloves?
No. The Contact PRO 4 mm and Giga Grip 4 mm latexes provide a strong grip without any additional enhancers. The glue you see in goalkeeper communities is a patch for low-quality foams — with FM gloves, simply dampening them before a match is enough. Glue accelerates latex wear and, in the long run, ruins the glove rather than saving it.
What to Buy with Your Gloves
What else should I buy with my gloves (a goalkeeper's kit)?
- A second pair (Training or another X model) for rotation — so one pair can dry after a match
- A glove bag/case, ventilated (not a plastic promotional bag)
- Goalkeeper jersey and shorts — we have a complete FM set
- For younger players: padded hip and elbow protectors
- Glove glue is NOT needed (see above)

Yes — for every B2C and B2B order. You can enter your details in the shopping cart. For B2B orders, our standard is a 14-day invoice, but for long-term partners, we can negotiate payment terms individually.
Distribution Partners
Decathlon, Unisport, R-GOL, and Sportano are our distributors. If you're looking for the best price and the full product range, buy directly from the manufacturer (footballmasters.pl). If you prefer to see them in person, visit select Decathlon stores or the R-GOL showroom (Krakow).
For Parents / Youth Players
Which model is for a U10 / U12 child?
Invictus X Junior — sizes 3 (U7-U9), 4 (U9-U12), 5 (U12-U14). A good quality latex for a youth player, with a Roll Finger+ cut that stabilizes the hand (a child needs that confidence). Price is approx. 129 zł. Don't buy adult gloves in a small size — they have thicker latex, and a child's hand won't be able to control the ball properly.
What are the junior sizes?
Available: 3, 4, 5 (Invictus X Junior). To measure, see How to measure your glove size. Junior size 3 is for ~6-8 years old, 4 for ~9-11, and 5 for ~12-14 — but always measure specifically for size, as hands grow at different rates.
