What is Stripe Climate?

Stripe Climate is an initiative partnered with, among others, Shopify, Alphabet (Google), Meta, H&M Group, Autodesk, McKinsey. Together with Frontier fund development of new carbon removal technologies (DAC — Direct Air Capture, biooil, enhanced weathering, CO₂ mineralization).

These technologies are expensive today (~$500–1000 per ton CO₂). They need early support to drop to ~$100/ton by 2030 and become scalable. That's why FM contributes its 1%.

Why this is different from "CO₂ offsets"

• We don't plant trees nor do we buy offsets of questionable effectiveness
• Permanent removal — CO₂ stored in rock, underground, or bio-oil for 1,000+ years
• Measurable — Frontier publishes details of every project (CO₂ tons, cost, location)
• Certified — Stripe verifies every provider (Climeworks, Charm Industrial, Heirloom, etc.)

Where does our money come from?

From our margin. Glove price didn't change. This isn't a "tax" on customers — it's our voluntary contribution. We'd rather make a bit less so keepers play in a world that breathes.
